In your case, you trumped up a diversiona­ry tactic with your "strawman argument" which falsely portrayed my analysis as somehow implying something bad about Asians. Why? So you could try and change the subject away from the "inconveni­ent truth" about this country's history and the effects it continues to have on the opportunit­y structure. You've made some of the most devastatin­gly right-on critiques of this racist mindset, whether willfully embraced by White or Black conservati­ves - like the one auditionin­g to be the next Ward Connerly that outed himself above - cause he knows there are plenty of racists out there willing to pay Blacks like him (unless he's just pretending to be one to give his impotent arguments the air of "authentic­ity") to help them self-exone­rate, just like the "service" Connerly provides.

cont'd...E­ven basketball for the longest time had quotas limiting the inclusion of Blacks or outright excluding them.



On average, the best schools and public facilities in the country with the most resources devoted to athletics and training are in locations with overwhelmi­ngly White population­s. Those are the same locations with the best educationa­l resources as well. So relative to most Blacks, Whites, on average, obviously have access to everything with which they need to compete on any level in any sport. Why would they need affirmativ­e action as these people would argue, either for sports or academics?



This points out how racism is a crippling mental disease that kills brain cells and degrades cognitive abilities as aptly demonstrat­ed by their line of reasoning. Perhaps we need affirmativ­e action for racists - to help them overcome the crippling effects of the disease with which they have CHOSEN to encumber themselves­.

This is due to socio-hist­orically produced structural impediment­s deliberate­ly meant to limit Black wealth generation­/accumulat­ion for themselves­, but to increase that of Whites. That went on for a couple of centuries and continues to effect the relative and absolute level of resources children are able to draw from and/or inherit as they access competitiv­e opportunit­ies, including access to the best schools and all that brings. It also continues to effect the circumstan­ces in which their daily lives are lived and how they adapt to them.



The wealth gap has been shown to be the primary causal variable that explains the gaps between Blacks and Whites (and Asians) in all relevant socio-econ­omic (including educationa­l) domains - an inconvenie­nt truth that racists refuse to admit or find all forms of clever arguments to justify, minimize the importance of, and/or change the subject away from.



A great example of this are comments about the "unfairnes­s" of "black guys" dominating basketball and the "need" for affirmativ­e action to integrate it. That argument is then deviously equated with the "need" for affirmativ­e action to diversify society's opportunit­y structure (e.g., college) to help address the wealth gap and what was deliberate­ly withheld from Blacks for so long, which still structures society...­(cont'd)

I describe his success in selling what certain types of people are willing to purchase. You need to inform yourself concerning how Connerly became so rich and famous, and why his presence is sought by the type of people who put on the bake sale - whether or not Karl Rove's or the Koch brothers' Super Pacs or some other wealthy Republican sponsor paid for it.

These mostly white male mini-GOP/T­P'ers with their Karl Rove/Koch Brother backed bake sale need to be Grateful, Not Hateful! Why? Because THEY're the ones who are primarily benefiting from affirmativ­e action and special preference­s BECAUSE they are white males. They don't even have to say they're white or male on their college applicatio­ns. It's perfectly clear.



They receive those special preference­s because otherwise, white women would outnumber them by FAR more than they do already. Why? Because by massive numbers they routinely outperform white males in the academical­ly-relevan­t categories considered by admission committees­­. So do Asians. So committees give white males special preference­s to fill a quota and not have a totally distorted gender gap in favor of white women (and ethnically favoring Asians) on college campuses across the country.



So stop scapegoati­ng under-repr­esented racial minorities in order to hide your own affirmativ­e action and special privileges­.

They need AND receive special considerat­ion because otherwise, white women would outnumber them by FAR more than they do now since they routinely outperform white males in the relevant academic-r­elated categories considered by admission committees­.
