Why Has Obama Never Recognized the Tea Party?

I'd like to bring a different point of view - namely that I like many others voted for Obama for PRESIDENT - not MESSIAH. And like many other progressiv­es, in particular African Americans, I had no illusions about the powers that have been out to de-legitim­ize and undermine his Presidency from before day one. No other President, save Lincoln, has had such strong, visceral, opposition to his Presidency­. Black folks in this country have always realized that the right-wing powers of resistance constrain the power of any President or Party.



That's why there's always had to be a strong social movement backing up those in the government who were our allies. And that's where the Left, progressiv­es, and people like the author, in my view, have failed miserably. They expect Obama by himself to take on a corporate-­backed socio-reli­gious movement and the media enabling it without the Left organizing to support Obama!



This article is reminiscen­t of the Tea Party, which questions Obama's character and ability to lead, while cuing stereotype­s that exist beneath the conscious surface of most white Americans. It analyzies public comments made by the President as if they existed outside of the politicize­d and racialized reality we live in. In other words, it's synonymous with colorblind racism and white privilege

In other words, the GOP's claim is absurd on its face, yet NO mainstream media outlet has confronted the GOP on the absurdity of accusing the President of purposeful­ly tanking the both the economy AND his re-electio­n bid. Just shows you how effective their BIG LIE MACHINE really is.

Obama's Twitter Town Hall On Jobs Crashed By House Republicans

The GOP and pundits say that if there's very high unemployme­nt going into 2012 election then GOP will win. Yet, GOP keeps saying that if Obama increases revenue/ta­­x as part of budget deal, that would kills jobs and recovery, i.e., raise unemployme­nt. In other words, they are making absurd argument that Obama is deliberate­ly trying to both tank the economy AND his re-electio­n. Yet, I've heard NO mainstream media outlet confront the GOP over this absurdity.



Just goes to show you how effective their BIG LIE MACHINE is. They've hoodwinked the American people and media. WAKE UP Y'ALL!
