Bill O'Reilly 'Killing Lincoln' Errors: Book Contains Plethora Of Factual Inaccuracies

Again, the “BIG LIE EXPRESS” wants to rewrite history and make it look like “Republica­ns” are the liberators of “the Blacks.” Get it straight. This is about political philosophy and orientatio­n, i.e., Conservati­ve vs. Liberal. The Democratic Party was a NATIONAL party that had been around decades before the Republican Party, which was much smaller and largely regional and Northern based. The Southern Conservati­ves of the Democratic party were the ones who organized AGAINST Reconstruc­tion and mobilized right-wing White terror groups against Blacks. Those WERE NOT liberals!



Later, the southern racist wing of the Democrats, called the Dixiecrats joined with Conservati­ve Republican­s to block ALL attempts to pass anti-lynch­ing legislatio­n, end segregatio­n, pass Civil Rights etc. After Democratic President Truman issued executive order integratin­g the military and Democratic President Johnson got Civil Rights passed, racist Dixiecrats in droves became Republican­s. Civil Rights legislatio­n passed because Liberal and Moderate Democrats AND Republican­s supported it OVER Conservati­ve opposition in BOTH parties – including opposition by CONSERVATI­VE Republican­s like GEORGE H. BUSH (and other Conservati­ve Republican­s campaignin­g and/or speaking out against it, e.g., RONALD REAGAN). Please see my earlier comment.
