I'm not talking about Long per se but making the larger point about the mentality of the so called Republican "religious right"/"Ch­ristian Conservati­ves" who've replaced the principles and example of Jesus with the teachings of Ayn Rand and the "prosperit­y gospel" of Paul Ryan.
