They just cranked up the Big Lie Machine and drove the Big Lie Express through the populace as they their followers threatened to kill Democraticl supporters, like the crowds of hateful T-baggers who Gabby Giffords had complained about before she got shot and who had taken over the block where her office was located.

Kay Bailey Hutchison: Obama Has A 'Bias' Against Texas

DD, I'm disappointed you chose to distort my five-word mini-bio and make "the Jesuit tradition" synonymous with YOUR view of "religion," falsely portraying that I "cling" to it. Then, you lecture me on the role of YOUR ex-religion and beliefs, which you falsely say I cling to, which were used to justify the very things I wrote against in my comment. And finally, you offer this piece of self-serving advice:

"I was a christian. Studying the bible cured that. If you ever really studied your book, perhaps the scales would fall away from your eyes."

DD, "Jesuit Tradition" refers to the "love of learning" instilled in Jesuit students and the broad range of intellectual influences we were exposed to: William F. Buckley to Richard Hofstadter; sex education to Ayn Rand; Darwin to Malcolm X. By 17, my Jesuit classmates and I had translated the "The Odyssey" from ancient Greek, a life-chaging experience still coursing my veins.

You CHOSE to project your negative experience of religion and distortions onto me and undermine my commentary. I recommend you read my actual views on various negative effects of religion and politics as follows. Thank you:

Jon Huntsman Skeptical About Obama Administration's Afghanistan Policy

Huntsman proved that the only positions he's qualified for are TROLL-IN-CHIEF or

PARASITE-IN -CHIEF. He was invited by President Obama along with a number of other Republicans to serve in his administration. But in classic Troll/Parasite behavior that is reminiscent of the behavior of many commenters who use HP, rather than being grateful, he chose to be hateful, while sucking the nutrients from the host organism and contributing nothing in return. Now he's pimping the juice from his experience and twisting it to suck-up to the T-baggers. Sickening.

Kay Bailey Hutchison: Obama Has A 'Bias' Against Texas

I forgive you for your personal attack and unfounded animus. For you to make such unfounded assumptions about ME means you're motivated by hatred. Otherwise you'd make an inquiry of me rather than proffer such a flagrant charge, like using the word "cling" and projecting your on prejudice of what YOU've decided the Jesuit tradition to be, and then put a word in a mouth I NEVER even used in my bio - "Religion," which you say I "cling to."

The Jesuit TRADITION refers to an approach to STUDY, which is open-minded, exegetic from many different points of view and traditions and non-religious sources, etc. By the time I was 17, I had translated They Odyssey from ancient Greek along with 12 other of my fellow student classicists, a story that has coursed my veins ever since.

I am sorry that you had such a horrific experience that you must now accuse me of having scales on my eyes and talk about "if you really studied YOUR book..." etc. and rather than deal with the points I made in my post you went right to my bio and then hurled your false projections onto me. Sexual abuse is a terrible thing. I am sorry that may have happened to you by a "religious" person and caused to be so embittered and bitterly wrong. If you've just chosen to be that way, well...

Kay Bailey Hutchison: Obama Has A 'Bias' Against Texas

Q: Why did Texas originally become a Republic?

A: To maintain slavery.

The first Barack Obama in the New World was Vicente Guerrero, (He was Black and White with some Indian). He was the President of Mexico who freed the slaves in 1829. So, white folks in the Texas Territory of Mexico, like Hutchison's ancestors, were doubly pissed. First, they had to answer to somebody who was Obama Black, and second, Guerrero took away the source of their power and wealth: People who looked like Obama and me! So they declared their independence from Mexico. Now people like Texas's Republican Governor, Rick Perry, want to secede from the United States!

Hey Rick and Kay Bailey (and the rest of you tro//z and stalkers). Get Over It. Slavery's over! So's the Civil War and OBAMA IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES - OUR UNION.

So stop acting like paranoid white supremacists and secessionists like you ancestors who started the Civil War, or you too will prove to be MORE ABOUT TREASON THAN REASON.

Bush - but this same person has the nerve to question a man who was the editor of the Harvard Law Review - the most prestigious in the country and is perhaps one of the most intelligent and thoughtful people we've ever had in the White House, i.e. Obama. Obama Faces More Voter Anxiety, Less Excitement Ahead Of 2012

I'm getting a little tired of reading reports of polls and people's attitudes about Obama and gas prices and the economy etc. Why? Because NO Mainstream media mention the relentless campaign and money spent to Blame Obama for the economy and to sway voters' attitudes against him, including the BIG LIES told by Republicans about his drilling for less domestic oil than ever when in fact he's drilled for MORE! Though not mainstream, at least Politico reported that the Koch brothers and their Tea Party front, Americans for Prosperity, has a nation-wide campaign to blame Obama for the high oil prices. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0611/56297.html

How about there be more reporting about the relentless assault to Blame Obama for everything, including widespread anxiety in the population, drop in fertility, erectile dysfunction, a rise in audultery and faux Twitter sexy talk ala Wiener, etc. etc. etc. Come on folks. Let's get real about the fact that Obama Bailed Out The Auto Industry and saved 1.5 million jobs. So now the right-wing even blames him for that because he took away a talking point.

P.S. they even lied about the bailout saying its contributed to the deficit when the MONEY GOT PAID BACK in so many of the bailouts already. Let's keep the focus on the right-wing BIG LIE MACHINE and BIG LIE EXPRESS where it belongs.

Sarah Palin On Paul Revere Ride: I Didn't Get History Wrong (VIDEO)

Contrary to Palin's cult followers who doctored Wiki and the tro//z trampin' round HP with their truncated quotes and second hand blog post sources, Palin portrayed Revere threatening the British to NOT come and take away Americans' guns and right to bear arms.

That wasn't a mistake. She twisted the story into an analogy so she and her fact-free-fundamentalist followers could cloak themselves in the "borrowed robes" of Paul Revere. It gives them all "plausible deniability" and the cloak of patriotism as they sneakily and treasonously threaten the President and the U.S. Government, which she's portrayed as "King Hussein Obama" and his "oppressive regime." Her threat? Don't try and limit right-wingers' gun rights or you'll face "2nd Amendment remedies" and the same fate as the Brits.

As usual, she's stoking paranoia and sociopathy and making veiled threats. When she got caught in her revision she made paranoid accusations against the "liberal media" for playing "gotcha" after merely asking her what she had learned on her trip.

Since paranoia and sociopathy are potentially dangerous forms of mental illness, perhaps Palin is scared that she and her gun-toting legions might lose their weapons should limits be placed on people who show paranoid, sociopathic and delusional symptomatology.

After all, guns and veiled threats are what the Right's power to intimidate, retaliate, and back up their "Big Lie Machine" rest on. It’s how they roll and rule and the only way they know how to can win.

See "Goddess of the Market: Ayn Rand and the American Right" by Jennifer Burns (historian sympathetic to Rand). Shows Rand's followers doctored her journals/writings to make her look better (sounds like Palin's followers). Here's review on Amazon:

'The "Journals of Ayn Rand" comes in for especially heavy criticism. Chris Sciabarra raised concerns ten years ago about possible tampering with the texts of Ayn Rand's journals. He has been proven right, and with a vengeance. Burns reports that "On nearly every page of the published journals, an unacknowledged change has been made from Rand's original writing." She notes that in many cases, the editing "serves to signficantly alter Rand's meaning." She observes: "Even more alarming are the sentences and proper names present in Rand's originals that have vanished entirely without any ellipses or brackets to indicate a change."

Professor Burns concludes: "The 'Journals of Ayn Rand' are thus best understood as an interpretation of Rand rather than her own writing. Scholars must use these materials with extreme caution. They serve as a useful introduction to Rand's development and a guide to the available archival material, but they should not be accepted at face value." She adds that "Similar problems plague 'Ayn Rand Answers' (2005), 'The Art of Fiction' (2000), 'The Art of Non-Fiction' (2001), and 'Objectively Speaking' (2009). These books are derived from archival materials but have been significantly rewritten." Coming from a scholar, a more damning indictment could hardly be imagined.'

Sounds like you learn your history from the same source as Palin. Thanks for going on record with your deliberate attempt to divert attention from the truth of what I said with your diversionary strawman comment.

I just did a substantive background check, and Alinsky was an atheist who didn't even believe in the "devil." He used "Lucifer" as a metaphor for rebelling against authority and gaining one's own sovereignty. But as we all know, the ability to understand metaphors, irony, and satire is evidence of a level of intelligence that escapes the literal minded.

By the way, Alinsky's part of the "bible" plagiarized by the right-wing regarding tactics that they deploy themselves, but don't give Alinsky the credit. They also don't have the courage to admit it. So like ungrateful cowards, while they steal their ideas they make people like him and Francis Piven scapegoats and condemn them in public while following them and Trotsky in private. CONT'D. Goebbels was crystal clear in his infamous 1943 Berlin speech: “Whatever serves it and its struggle for existence is good and must be sustained and nurtured. Whatever is injurious to it and its struggle for existence is evil and must be removed and eliminated.”

Regarding control over almost every level of our lives right down to our bodies, I suggest you read some of the speeches and policies being pushed by Alan West, as well as the rest of the religious right, right-wing Governors, legislatures, and political activists across the country. You parrot Rand's linguo about liberals being Nazis and fascists (she even famously called John F. Kennedy and his administration "fascist" both before and after his assassination). She too saw herself and the big corporations as "victims" of the big bad government and its spending money on the "undeserving" the "looters," "parasites," and "moochers."

Yet you turn a blind eye to the real threat to our freedom posed by the "religious right" (which even Rand recognized). That makes your statement, "We conservatives have respect for everyone's decision on how to run your own lives...we value freedom! We don't want constant government control and intervention!” on par with the propaganda Goebbels spouted, aka a "BIG LIE." Your Hitler frequently praised the notion of the heroic individual believing it was the “strength and power of individual personality” that determined the economic fate of both the individual and the people. He told a group of conservative industrialists in Düsseldorf in 1932:

"You maintain, gentlemen, that the German economy must be constructed on the basis of private property. Now such a conception of private property can only be maintained in practice if it in some way appears to have a logical foundation. This conception must derive its ethical justification from the insight that this is what nature dictates...the outstanding achievements of individuals [mean] people are not of equal value or of equal importance," and that capitalism is "morally and ethically justified only if [we] admit that men’s achievements are different...The creative and decomposing forces in a people always fight against one another.”

Rand couldn't agree more. Like Hitler she believed that capitalism was vulnerable and lacked what she said was “a philosophical base” and needed a logical foundation grounded in nature itself - that it must “begin at the beginning...In order to sustain its life, every living species has to follow a certain course of action required by its nature.”

Like both Hitler and Goebbels, Rand preached that this "logical foundation" was grounded in man's "struggle for survival. Goebbels was crystal clear in his infamous 1943 Berlin speech: CONT'D

The consensus among economists (not right-wing ideologues) is that had Obama NOT involved the Government in the auto business, 1 million jobs would have been lost because of all the negative multiplier effects, and plenty of small businesses would have went down the toilet.

In other words, that means that Obama deprived the right-wing ideologues of a powerful talking point (Remember what they ALL said before he did it - that he should just let the auto companies fail etc. and that it would NEVER work). They would have loved to have had another million lost jobs to blame on Obama.

So like our "libertarian" friend here, they change the subject and/or STILL blame Obama for NOT losing the jobs. That money got paid back!

Their lack of remorse, constant lying and playing the victim themselves, and portraying mega-corporations and the super rich and powerful as victims of Obama and/or "The Government" are all indicators of the type of paranoia and sociopathy that Ayn Rand made fashionable and freeing.

Welcome to the McDonaldization of Christianity and the "Faith and Freedom Happy Meal."

"Oh Come All Ye faithful" to Ralph Reed's "Synagogue of Satan" -- free at last to get fleeced by “prosperity gospel” preaching “pastors” with an exclusive franchise on faith, super-sized bank accounts, private jets, publishing deals, TV and radio shows, and of course unparalleled political clout.

Like Big Tobacco Execs, these Religion CEOs have turned their advertising susceptible and star struck followers into loyal customers who consume their pastoral products -- especially the promise that they too will prosper – so long as they pledge to tithe at least 10% of their income to the "ministry" of treating taxation and regulation as mortal sins.

These Tea-vangelists daily turn "the faithful" into “Cafeteria Christians” and "religious diabetics," who treat Jesus like a leper and “inconvenient truth” as they pig out on all you can eat “holier than thou meals,” picking and choosing whatever they please from the Old Testament menu, so long as it justifies their personal and political prejudices and private profiteering of their pastors.

Faith And Freedom Coalition Conference 2011: GOP Presidential Hopefuls Court Religious Right

As a human being, Christian, and American, I’m mad as hell over the corruption of our faith, reason, and humanity and I’m not going to take it anymore. I won't assume a bystander’s stance while this New Confederacy of demagogues, false prophets, and corporate highwaymen hijack our heritage, assault our sanity, and ransack our freedom.

Those subsidizing heists like Ralph Reed's "Faith and Freedom" are its biggest beneficiaries - like the Koch Brothers, the estimated $144 billion in “Big Oil” profits this year, the trillions in cash stashed offshore by mega-corporations, and the fortunes fleeced from their flocks by false prophets with a “franchise on faith," etc.

But a heist so hefty couldn't have been pulled off without massive deception, a compliant if not complicit media, the self-deception and suggestibility of “We the People,” and an obsolete progressive political philosophy. The latter has proven itself incapable of conceptualizing and comprehending the full scope of the Right’s political theology, agenda, and seizure of sovereignty. It's also failed to guide effective responses other than make hollow demands for "separation of Church and State" that fall on more and more deaf ears.

Wake up "progressives!" Reed's fake "Faith and Freedom" is more a Front for Fascism than a celebration of worshipping or living freely. It can't be just dismissed as an irrational violation of the Constitution or simply wished away. Faith And Freedom Conference: How Will Religion Affect Evangelical Votes?

Ayn Rand hated Jesus and Christianity. She did however worship a child murderer named William Hickman, whose infamous motto she made into the basis of her philosophy: "What's good for me is right." Ralph Reed (and others) find no contradiction in combining Rand and the religious right. After all, it was their ancestors who combined Christianity and slavery and saw no contradiction. Faith And Freedom Conference: How Will Religion Affect Evangelical Votes?

It can't be just dismissed as an irrational violation of the Constitutional or simply wished away. It's a dangerous movement threatening the very Soul of our Nation and Sovereignty of "We the People."
