What Does Michele Bachmann's Grasp Of History Mean For The Children?

Great points papapj. You may have heard about the Gallup poll taken in 1962 that showed that 85% of Whites, NATIONALLY, believed that Blacks had an equal chance as Whites in getting a good education! Now that's some serious perceptual dissonance. Imagine the level of self-deception needed to sustain such a delusion in the face of incredible evidence to the contrary. Alternatively, imagine the level of disconnection from and/or dismissiveness towards Black people who had been quite visibly and vocally asserting otherwise.

Now imagine the cognitive dissonance of White people being confronted by both the evidence and the first hand assertions of Black people suffering from the inequality, yet overwhelmingly resolving the dissonance by maintaining a belief that their perspective concerning the plight of Blacks is the unbiased one, and that Blacks are the ones playing the race card, exaggerating their difficulties, and failing to take responsibility for their own self-induced failures. Now imagine the kind of ideology such people might gravitate towards when it comes to voting or supporting any person or policy that they have been led to believe might in some way take "their hard earned tax dollars" and divert it to programs (other than prisons) that might benefit Blacks and/or suggest that anything other than Blacks themselves are responsible for their problems.

Now imagine the faces and emotions of such people when they have been led to believe by Bachmann that "Obamacare" is a communist conspiracy to give reparations to Blacks.
