The Religious Reasons Why Abortion is a Moral Decision

Great post Rev. I'm grateful for progressives who maintain their religious affiliation or that part of their identity influenced by the best of what religion and spirituality offer. Too many progressives are turned off by the hypocrisy and power hungry greed of religious institutions, leaders, politicians, family members, and those in the society claiming some religious authority or belief system as a moral justification for their greed. And there's nothing more greedy than to covet the control of the fetus and fluids in another's body, their partnership or reproductive choices.

To them I say take responsibility for yourself. Stop using fetuses as weapons to wage "holy war" against people who don't share your belief. "Vengeance shall be mine says the Lord." So if you truly had faith in God and believed someone has committed a wrong by what they themselves chose to do with their own fertilized egg growing in their own body, then you'd have faith they'd face the consequences of their choice on their own judgment day - not the one you falsely impose upon them because of your lack of faith in God's judgment and your choice to violate the 1st Commandment: "You shall have no other God before me." You've placed yourself, your judgement, and lust for the power to punish and control others ahead of God and in God's place. So remove the beam from your own eye and ask God for forgiveness for your apostasy and hubris.
