Before he died, Lee Atwater had a deathbed conversion. He apologized, said he was wrong, and pleaded that other Conservatives NOT use the "race-baiting," "racial code and dog whistles," and stoking of White racial resentment against Blacks (which he perfected) for the Conservative and Republicans' "political gain."
