p.s., There used to be liberals and moderates in the Republican Party. They joined with liberals and moderates in the Democratic Party under the leadership of LBJ (who rode the coattails of good faith that followed JKF's death and Kennedy's support of Civil Rights) to DEFEAT CONSERVATIVES in BOTH their Parties that were opposed to Civil & Voting Rights and Anti-lynching legislation etc. Everett Dirkson is an example of one of those who joined with LBJ.
