These findings regarding disinforma­tion and misinforma­tion are based on research conducted by Elizabeth Loftus, who is an expert in what's referred to as the "planting of false memories." I have written about Loftus' research and how it applies to the deliberate strategies engaged in by people like Bachmann, Gingrich, Huckabee etc. It's not that they don't history. The right-wing deliberate­ly rewrites history in order to plant false memories in the minds of the public. I frequently refer to Loftus' work in comments I've made on HP for those who are interested­.
