Rick Perry's 'Texas Miracle' Includes Crowded Homeless Shelters, Low-Wage Jobs, Worker Deaths

I recall a previous "Texas Miracle" that turned out to be a hoax and eventual scandal. But before it got exposed, Rod Paige, who was at the helm when it happened, got appointed by George W. Bush to be his Secretary of Education. The "miracle" involved the unbelievable drop in the drop out rate and increase in achievement in the Texas public schools. Turned out it really was unbelievable because they cooked the books.

You see, they're pretty good at tellin' some pretty big whoppers down there in the Lone Star State. Let's not forget how great a firm Enron was, until it turned out to be built on a mountain of lies- and then when Enron got found out, W. denied knowing "Kenny Boy" Lay, Enron's CEO and Chair, as well as W's biggest political contributor.

Yeah, I'd say it's just a matter of time before the real truth gets out behind Perry's "Texas Miracle." Hopefully before, like W., he lands in the White House.

Oh, and here's a little quiz on Texas History that still's mighty relevant even now:

Q: Why did Texas become a Republic?

A: To maintain slavery.
