Brummie: Great points. Thank you so much. They are priceless.
I have watched the show many times myself. I also know how to go into the zone and get caught up in a drama, or "suspend disbelief," as you say. I generally prefer watching "House."
Your last 2 lines are ones that I hope many others will consider, especially those who watch and enjoy 24. It shows the ability to be able to simultaneously hold 2 paradoxical neurocognitive patterns and not force a simplistic or categorical resolution, but instead be open. Allow me to quote them here:
"I've watched and enjoyed '24' for the past seven seasons, even though I recognise it as being the same plot and formulaic every season, predictable, pro-torture propaganda, ridiculous at times, far fetched, full of plot holes and inconsistencies I'm still able to suspend disbelief, switch off my brain and enjoy it. I guess there's always the danger that one can switch off their brain too much and for too long when watching these shows."
Thank you!
