DO NOT BE DECEIVED by those who deny that it was Conservatives who supported slavery, segregation, anti-immigration, and opposed Martin Luther King holiday, Black History Month etc. In fact, they always identified themselves as both "Christian" AND "Conservative" - NEVER "Liberal." That includes extremist Conservative terrorist groups, such as the KKK.
The people deliberately covering this up do so to hide the white-supremacy/racism of TODAY'S Conservatives, who overwhelmingly support the GOP and Republicans (Conservatives stopped supporting Democrats after Democratic President and Congress passed Civil Rights legislation over the opposition of CONSERVATIVES OF BOTH PARTIES).
So they try to pin it on Liberals. Liberals were historically against slavery - they were the abolitionists, they supported ending segregation etc. Liberals NEVER were the ones wearing KKK regalia and bombing Black Churches and fire-hosing Civil Rights protesters etc.
