My other comment is pending, but I thought I'd also remind you, as a Jesuit trained Catholic who uses my real name and identity here, that the people who owned slaves, beat them mercilessly, raped slave women, burned black men and babies alive, etc. all self-identified as both "Christian" AND "Conservative."
Pretending that these Southerners weren't Christian when they went out of their way to identify themselves as such, as well as "Conservative" - NEVER "Liberal" - is evidence of how far you feel compelled to pervert history and the truth just to try and hide what you don't want to admit yourself or for others to see.
Obviously you feel COMPLETELY COMFORTABLE doing so.
