F&F. Nailed it. Byrd was NEVER a Liberal. He remained a Conservative who disavowed the r.as.t part of his Conservative past and refused to join those who hadn't, like Thurmond and Helms, into the Republican Party. Just goes to show you how desperate and devious the arguments they use to cover-up the roots of the ra/s/t PRESENT.
